The annual Royersford Halloween Parade is set to return to Main Street on Monday, October 26, and organizers are calling on community members to help make the event a success.

The Royersford Business Association, which is organizing the parade, is seeking volunteers to assist with crowd control and safety along the parade route, which will travel down Main Street from 6th Avenue to 3rd Avenue.

This year's parade will feature additional safety measures, including caution tape and barriers to create designated spectator areas along the sidewalks. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the route to help keep children and other attendees out of the roadway and retrieve candy that lands in the street.

Organizers have also announced stricter rules for participating floats and vehicles, which must have at least four volunteers walking alongside them, with two on each side.

Candy cannot be thrown directly from floats or vehicles. Instead, it must be distributed by walkers, who are instructed to toss candy toward the sidewalks rather than into the roadway.

ATVs, electric bicycles, and electric scooters are prohibited from participating.

The parade begins at 7 p.m., with participants lining up at 6th Avenue and Main Street beginning at 6 p.m.

Residents interested in volunteering can contact the Royersford Business Association at royersfordba@gmail.com or send a direct message through the organization's Facebook page.

Parade Registration Open Through October 16

Businesses, organizations, community groups, and families are also invited to participate in the parade, with registration for groups and floats open through Friday, October 16.

Businesses and community members entering floats or vehicles must pay a $25 registration fee, while nonprofit organizations and groups can participate for free. Individual walkers do not need to register and can participate at no cost.

The parade will also feature contests for Best Adult Costume, Best Child Costume, Best Group Performance, Best Decorated Vehicle, and Best Float.

Those interested in participating can find additional details and register through the online registration form.

The association is also collecting candy donations at Annamarie's, located at 347 Main Street, through Monday, October 19. Each eligible donation of a bag weighing at least one pound earns an entry into a drawing for a $100 gift card to a Royersford Main Street business of the winner's choice. The drawing will take place October 25.

The parade will be canceled in the event of inclement weather, as no rain date is scheduled.
