A drone show could light up the Royersford sky this September as part of the borough's America250 celebration, according to details the mayor shared at the March 31 council meeting.
Mayor Alex Metricarti brought pricing and logistics to the table after promising to look into the idea. A vendor has confirmed availability on September 12 and offered three package options: 100 drones for approximately $9,000, 150 drones for $13,500, or a 200-drone show for $17,000. Each performance would run roughly 10 to 12 minutes due to battery limitations.
The logistical requirements are straightforward but specific. The vendor needs a launch and landing area measuring 100 by 150 feet on the ground, with the viewing audience positioned at least 250 feet away.
