Local entrepreneur Dale Sizer is teaming up with DoorDash to provide 100 local children with free meals ahead of the new school year.
On Wednesday, August 26, Sizer’s Deezy’s Famous and Love PA Foundation will distribute free cheeseburgers and fries at locations in Pottstown and Spring City, with 50 meals available at each stop.
3 to 4 p.m. — Artillery Brewery
305 E. High Street, Pottstown
5 to 6 p.m. — Punch Buggy Brewing Company
77 N. Main Street, Spring City
Meals will be distributed to children on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
A Nonprofit Born During a Time of Need
Sizer founded the Love PA Foundation in November 2025, during a disruption to SNAP/EBT benefits that left many families concerned about putting food on the table. He said the uncertainty inspired him to create an organization that could respond directly when families in the community needed help.
“Love PA really started because I saw families worried about something as basic as being able to feed their kids,” Sizer said. “I was already in the food business, so I felt like if there was something we could do to help, we should do it. I didn't want it to be something we did once and forgot about. I wanted to build something that could continue giving back.”
The foundation's mission centers on supporting children, families, and communities throughout Pennsylvania.
“These communities support Deezy’s throughout the year, and I believe giving back has to be part of what we do,” Sizer said. “This day isn't about selling food. It's about the kids. If we can put a good meal in their hands, put a smile on their faces, and let them know their community is behind them as they go back to school, that's a win for us.”
Sizer has been running food operations at Punch Buggy in Spring City since the taproom opened in June. Spring City Mayor Adam Alberico said it’s great to see local businesses giving back and the community coming together.
“As Spring City continues to grow, this is what that small-town spirit is all about,” Alberico said. “Businesses supporting our community and our community supporting them.”
With assistance from DoorDash and his brewery partners, Sizer said the goal is to make the event simple and accessible for families. No purchase is necessary.
Sizer hopes events like this will help the Love PA Foundation continue building its presence and eventually reach more children and families throughout Pennsylvania.
“One hundred kids. Two communities. One goal: start the school year with some love, a cheeseburger, and fries,” he said.
