A commemorative beer brewed for Limerick's 300th anniversary will be sold at township events in 2026, officials said during the March 17 Board of Supervisors meeting.

Township Manager Dan Kerr said the beer is being produced through a collaboration between the Limerick Fire Department and Hares Hill Brewing Company, with proceeds supporting tricentennial events planned for later this year.

Raising Money for Limerick’s 300th Birthday

The beer initiative is one of several efforts underway as the township prepares to mark its 300th anniversary in 2026. Officials said fundraising and sponsorships are intended to help offset event costs.

Kerr reported that local businesses have already begun contributing to the effort. Dunkin’ has committed $10,000 as a sponsor, and Wawa has expressed interest in participating with giveaways and refreshments at upcoming events.

Main Celebration Planned for September

The tricentennial celebration will include two major events:

  • Community Day on Aug. 15, which will be an expanded version of the township’s annual event with additional activities. Officials said plans include inflatable attractions, live entertainment, and the potential opening of the new Manderach Memorial Playground, depending on construction progress.
  • Tricentennial Celebration on September 26 on the Waltz Golf Farm property, which will include music, food trucks, a beer garden, and a fireworks show.

More Details to Come

Officials said additional details about the beer — including its style, branding, and availability — will be released as planning continues.

Residents are encouraged to follow township updates for information about event schedules, sponsorships, and additional tricentennial activities.
